Mathematical Reasoning for 6-year olds.

This 12-lessons programme was evaluated in a rigorous research project funded by the Education Endowment Foundation and was found to raise the children's mathematical attainment by three months in comparison to children who did not have access to the programme. It is a fantastic opportunity that teachers can now access the teaching programme for their students by completing an entirely on-line programme developed with support from the DfE and the Education Endowment Foundation. Mathematical Reasoning for 6-year olds is one of five REASONING FIRST interventions that were found effective in promoting children’s educational outcomes in different research projects. Once you have completed the Online Professional Development course on mathematical reasoning, you can register to learn how to implement further mathematical reasoning programmes, including fractions, intensive quantities, probability and using diagrams to solve problems.

Teachers who have already completed the online course and are qualified to use the programme, please log in using the icon “Access the Resources”.
